WHY ARE WE A SUSTAINABLE CHOICE?

At Rovisco Garcia estates, the respect for the legacy of the land gives management a sustainable development perspective and dictates the balance of economic profitability and the preserving of natural resources, as a permanent goal and as a commitment to the future.

FOREST AND CORK

Beyond its economic and social functions, the cork oak forest is a barrier to desertification, preserves the soils and regulates the hydrological cycle and the quality of water, it’s a carbon fixer and oxygen producer.
The cork, extracted from the trees without compromising them, is 100% natural, 100% reusable and 100% recyclable.
The Conqueiro and Monte Novo estates are part of the CERTIBEI group, certified after the FSC® (Forex Stewardship Council®) (FSC-C105877) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) in sustainable forest management. In that way, both the pine cone and the cork produce are certified to come from responsibly managed forests.

VINEYARD

Not only is our vineyard managed in a sustainable way, under the Integrated Production Programme, but also RG Rovisco Garcia, as a wine grower, is a member of Wines of Alentejo Sustainability Programme.

PACKAGING

Considering our commitment to sustainability, in our packaging and advertising material we choose certified products from forests managed in a sustainable way (like Rovisco Garcia’s), whether we are talking about natural cork stoppers (uncovered), labels, cardboard or wood boxes, leaflets or brochures. To reduce the CO2 emissions, the bottles are lighter in our Colheita range (aprox. 395g).

VEGAN CERTIFICATION

Searching the value of inclusion, giving guarantees and making the choice easier, RG Rovisco Garcia White Wine Colheita 2022 has the V-Label seal, being certificated as vegan.
